“I’m still in a dream, Snake Eater!”
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater’s Remake might be arriving sooner than expected.

Since its early beginnings, the Metal Gear saga has gained a devoted following. No wonder: Hideo Kojima’s lead saga has it all: innovative gameplay, masterful soundtrack, and unique storytelling.
Since 2015, following The Phantom Pain, no MGS game was released. Well – except Metal Gear Survive in 2018… which we might want to forget.
Most were already aware of the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake being in development. Though a recent revelation has stirred up interest in the project once again. According to Andy Robinson from VGC, gamers can anticipate an unveiling of the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake around the time of E3 this coming summer, with a projected release date sometime in 2024.
Other Metal Gear Solid games re-issues might also be planned, although it’s still unclear which titles are targeted.
Back in 2004, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater earned widespread acclaim for its innovative gameplay mechanics and thrilling storyline. This remake is expected to showcase enhanced graphics, improved gameplay mechanics, and possibly even some new content. Despite the enthusiasm among MGS fans for this project, some are understandably apprehensive about the idea of Konami leading the remake, given the publisher’s recent track record.
Indeed: Konami has become a bit of a downer in the last decade. We of course already mentioned the studio’s fallout with Hideo Kojima. This goes hand to hand with the mishandling of the Silent Hill franchise and the Castlevania IP.
Konami’s announcement towards the end of last year that they will partner with Bloober Team Team to develop a remake of Silent Hill 2 was also met with skepticism.
Still, there’s a glimmer of hope that the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake and the other MGS re-releases will give the IP the recognition it deserves. Since the release is planned for 2024, we will have to remain patient to see if the remake meets expectations.
For now, all we can do is hope that Konami is making sure the MGS franchise is handled with the respect and consideration it is due.
