Microsoft and Activision-Blizzard’s possible acquisition has brought the publisher and the console maker closer than ever before.

Although the deal is not yet finalized and still subject to judgment, the two entities are already benefitting from their strong link by collaborating on commercial operations, such as the release of the Diablo IV + Xbox Series X bundle. On paper, the bundle appears to be very enticing, but in reality, it falls short of expectations.
A Basic Bundle
One would expect a console customised to the game’s colours in a bundle like this, but that’s not the case. The current generation seems to have abandoned customised consoles, as evidenced by this bundle and the lack of them for the PS5. The Xbox Series X Halo Infinite was recently an exception.
For approximately 559 € (which is a small saving given the game’s 79 € price tag), this bundle only provides access to a standard Xbox Series X console and a digital code for the game. You will also receive a few in-game items, such as:
- Lightbringer mount with mount armor
- Winged Darkness cosmetic set for Umbra
- Inarius wings and murloc pet (for Diablo III)
- Rage Amalgamation mount (for World of Warcraft)

None of these items are particularly exciting, but if you had planned to purchase both the console and the game, you can save some time and money by buying them together on the official Xbox website.
The release date for Diablo IV is set for June 6, 2023, on PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S
