It’s likely that every day in May, gamers will wonder when Sony will reveal a PlayStation Showcase.
Despite no official announcement, it’s hard to imagine they won’t soon communicate about their future PlayStation Studios games, even if just to present Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. All rumors so far have pointed to a conference in May. Now, the editor-in-chief of VGC has added fuel to the fire with some additional information.
Journalist Andy Robinson seems to have heard the same whispers as Jeff Grubb, as he claims a PlayStation Showcase is expected by the end of May or at the beginning of June. He also states that this presentation will include Konami games.
Robinson has long been the go-to source for Konami game rumors, including the alleged remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 or the return of Castlevania.
This weekend, Jez Corden of Windows Central and Nick Baker of Xbox Era both confirmed the return of these licenses, potentially as exclusives for the PlayStation 5. While the credibility of the two insiders is questionable, the words of the editor-in-chief of VGC carry a little more weight.
Either way, the arrival of a PlayStation Showcase seems imminent. It remains to be seen whether Konami will take advantage of the opportunity to show that Silent Hill is not the only franchise coming out of the closet.
