Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 remake has been a resounding triumph with staggering sales figures. In its first two days, the game exceeded three million units.

One thing is certain at the moment: the horror game market seems to be flourishing. While horror games may not appeal to everyone, both AAA and indie games offer plenty of exciting options to explore. Since the beginning of the year, we’ve seen the release of 3 standouts already: Dead Space, Sons of the Forest, and now RE4.
Resident Evil 4, launched on March 24, has garnered significant acclaim for its ability to preserve the original’s essence while also providing a modern lift-up. Some even believe that it may have outshone its forerunner in terms of excellence. Of course, anticipation for the game had already been high: the demo did an amazing job in teasing what was to come.
Capcom has delivered on the hype. The sales of the Resident Evil 4 remake have far exceeded initial expectations, with over three million copies sold within 2 days.
This new success adds up to an already prosperous franchise. As of December 2022, the Resident Evil franchise had sold over 135 million copies.
