Star Wars: Ubisoft’s Open World Might be Released in 2024

Ubisoft is currently feeling down in the dumps. The latest financial results of the publisher were clearly disappointing, falling short of the company’s expectations. The upcoming Ubisoft Forward event on June 12 presents the perfect opportunity to turn things around with a strong lineup.

Out of the games planned for this fiscal year, only one major mystery title has yet to be announced by Ubisoft. According to Kotaku, it could very well be the highly anticipated Star Wars game being developed by Ubisoft Massive.

We didn’t expect to see it before 2025 at the earliest, but it seems that the French publisher’s Star Wars game is already well underway. The site mentions anonymous sources indicating that Ubisoft Massive’s open-world Star Wars game is internally planned for this fiscal year, with a targeted release in early 2024.

These same sources also specify that even though it’s the studio behind The Division working on the project, it will be completely different from the third-person shooter franchise. It will include interplanetary travel, among other features.

Still, the development isn’t progressing as smoothly as anticipated – despite the high expectations from the publisher for this project.
Therefore, despite initial projections, the release date might shift to the fiscal year of 2024/2025 (from April 2024 to March 2025)
