Nintendo has revealed the global sales numbers for the game. Tears of the Kingdom has now set a new record for the franchise.

The Legend of Zelda: TOTK sold 10 million copies worldwide. In just three days.
Nintendo officially announced this achievement, including both physical and digital versions of the open-world game.
We’ve also learned that the game sold 2.24 million copies in Japan alone, and 4 million copies across the entire American continent. It’s worth mentioning that it also had a remarkable launch in France. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has thus achieved the best start in the history of the series. It even comes close to the record set by Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, which also reached 10 million sales in three days during its launch.
In a nutshell: those numbers are a true testament to the sequel to Breath of the Wild. If you’re active on social media, you can witness the enthusiasm of fans, resulting in some incredibly imaginative creations and playful interactions with Koroks, among other things. However, some players do express disappointment with the game’s technical aspects and its strong resemblance to the previous title. Its critical acclaim even led to a “review bombing” incident on Metacritic a few days ago.
